This page contains information about the bachelor’s and master’s degree programmes in the School of Electrical Engineering.
Bachelor’s degree programme (180 ECTS)
The School of Electrical Engineering has a bachelor’s degree programme which students can apply for after secondary school (e.g. Finnish lukio). When students are admitted into the bachelor’s degree programme, they are at the same time given the right to complete a master’s degree.
The Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Electrical Engineering has three specializations which prospective students can apply for:
- Automation and Information Technology (in finnish)
- Bioinformation Technology (in finnish)
- Electronics and Electrical Engineering (in finnish)
Master’s programmes (120 ECTS)
Students who have completed a Bachelor of Science Degree or a suitable university of applied sciences degree can apply directly for master-level studies which will give the students a Master of Science in Technology Degree. In fall 2015 three new master's programmes are launched. The teaching language of the programmes is English.

- Computer, Communication and Information Sciences - Acoustics and Audio Technology
- Computer, Communication and Information Sciences - Communications Engineering
- Computer, Communication and Information Sciences - Computer Science
- Computer, Communication and Information Sciences - Game Design and Production
- Computer, Communication and Information Sciences - Machine Learning and Data Mining
- Computer, Communication and Information Sciences - Security and Mobile Computing
- Computer, Communication and Information Sciences - Signal, Speech and Language Processing
- Computer, Communication and Information Sciences - Software and Service Engineering
In addition the School of Electrical Engineering offers one major in the Life Science Technologies programme.
The School of Electrical Engineering also participates in one Erasmus Mundus programme:
